anchorite:

a person who likes to live and lives alone and avoids other people’s company (= not living with other people) in order to reach or join God, to unite with God,
an anchorite, living alone and praying all the time
e.g.
Every religion in the world has many number of anchorites that spend their entire lives away from others and pray and pray.
Some people think that most anchorites are old people who do not have anything in particular to do in their lives, but they are wrong because most of the present-day old anchorites are those who went into seclusion when they were young many years ago.
