[slightly different first vowel sound]
“Corespondent” (with a single ‘r’, said: “co–respondent” & for the right pronunciation, please click here) is ‘(in law) a person charged with having sexual relation (adultery) with the wife or husband (respondent) of another who files a petition (complaint) in the court of law’,
e.g.
Mr. James is the corespondent in the case filed by Mr. John for a divorce from his wife. [i.e. Mr. John said in his petition (complaint to court of law) that he wants a divorce form his wife because she has illicit sexual relationship (which is against the law) with Mr. James: therefore, Mr. James = corespondent; Mrs. John = respondent; Mr. John = complainant]
