an ignorant, foolish, slow-witted or stupid person,
(Somebody thinks these politicians are dopes!)
Jerry is called a dope because he’s always slow in understanding even the simple issues such as price hike, pollution and over-population.
Every body says that our governments are run by a bunch of dopes, but nobody comes up with a solution to correct this most important issue.
Children believe that their parents are dopes for not being able to understand the present trends in life style and when it’s their turn to become parents, they cannot stop their children from believing that they are dopes, too.
A ‘dope test’, on the other hand, is a test conducted on sports person by testing their urine to check whether they are using any drugs/medicine to make themselves more energetic and quicker — drugs not necessarily be marijuana, cocaine, heroin, etc.
