A ‘manipulator’ is, apart from the less common meaning of ‘ a person who operates/works a machine, apparatus or device as a job’ also known as ‘operator’, a person who likes to take control of others’ lives, using bad methods or taking advantage of others’ innocence or ignorance and troubled situation they are in, and make them obey him/her for his/her own advantage.

The three types:
An exploiter, the worst of the three types, uses his/her power or influence to make others to do something that is not right to enjoy personal profit; a manipulator, takes advantage of the situation or creates a situation and plays psychological tactics (mind control) to keep others under his/her control to get what they want; and an ‘opportunist’, the least of these three types, is a person who does not do anything directly but waits patiently for a chance or for something, usually something bad or disturbing, to happen to others and then takes advantage of the situation to get what they want.
