A First Lady of a country must behave in such a way that she must reflect the best qualities of a decent woman, the responsibility of a wife and a mother.
As the first lady of a country has her own responsibilities, a first lady of a church has her own responsibilities in a Christian community.
After reading a news article titled “US embassy cables: First ladies of India and California get on wonderfully – up to a point” in which Mrs Sonia Gandhi, the present President of the Congress Party of India, one of the political parties in India, is called ‘the first lady of India’, I wonder if this title is apt for Mrs Sonia Gandhi, undoubtedly a great lady, particularly at a time when there is a female, Ms Pratibha Patil, serving the country as an elected first woman President of India!
