freeloader:
(plural: ‘freeloaders‘; pronunciation: ‘free…loader’)
a person who habitually depends (lives) on other people for food, accommodation, etc. without giving anything in return, i.e. without paying any money or doing any work or giving any service to those people,

a typical freeloader
Jane was very upset when she came to realise that the person who was sharing the department with her was a freeloader, freely using her food items, cosmetics and even her car without asking her.
Freeloaders are of different kinds: there are family members who freeload on their siblings or parents; there are friends who are shameless freeloaders who never spend a cent of their own though they can but live off their generous friends; and there are general freeloaders who taking advantage of their one-time misfortune but never try to set things straight for themselves and stand on their own two feet but live on the generosity of some philanthropists.
There are some countries which are labelled as freeloaders because of their habit of demanding continuous financial help from a group of rich countries on the pretext of showing their support for the host countries’ policies or wars in the international scenario and/or threatening to join the other group of countries which is in need of such support to counter its opponent.
