fundamentalist:
(plural: ‘fundamentalists‘)
a person who supports and practises fundamentalism,

L K Advani, an Indian political fundamentalist
A political fundamentalist is a politician who uses or tries to use religion as a means to gain advancement in his/her political career.
I wonder how fundamentalists base their argument that people should follow fundamentals in everything when they have no idea what fundamentals they base on are and how they confirm the writings they find in the holy scriptures they base on are the “true” fundamentals, for we all know that historical and religious scriptures have been subjected to changes or misinterpretations over the years in translations or rewritings to suit the perceptions of the ‘translators’!
Interestingly enough, fundamentalists also change their perspective and ideology depending on the issue at hand, for instance, ‘holy wars’ are in the ‘fundamentals’ and they encourage people to ‘fight’ against the Satan and people who embrace the ways of the Satan or the Evil, but the same fundamentalists stand against those who engage in wars to defend their territory, culture or trade interests, saying that a human killing another human is inhuman.
