An inferior in a caste system is a person who belongs to the lowest rung of the society and does all sorts of menial jobs, including as a scavenger.
There have been inferiors in the human history since the beginning of permanent societies: in some societies the illegitimate children and adults caught in adulterous activities were made into ‘inferiors’ and are given menial jobs and are made live on the out skirts of the communities.
In countries like India, people belonging to a particular caste by birth, called ‘untouchables’, ‘harijans’ and ‘dalits’, do the meanest jobs, and are not allowed to enter the temples and are punished severely if they touch the other caste people!
The new manager thinks she’s a superior and treats the other staff members as if they were inferiors. (In this sentence, ‘inferior’ is used to mean ‘less in efficiency, talent, qualification, intelligence, etc.’, nothing to do with caste system.)
