odd-jobman:
(also ‘odd jobber‘, ‘handyman‘, also in American English: ‘odd-job guy’; also written: ‘odd job man’ or ‘odd-job man’; plural: ‘odd-jobmen’)
a person, usually a man, who does casual work at people’s houses for pay — jobs such as fixing leaking taps, repairing plumbing system, fixing any simple damaged electrical appliances, replacing door-handles, etc.,
Sam is the best odd-jobman in our small town; he can fix anything … from hanging a flowerpot from the veranda beam to replacing a broken window frame.
Every apartment building needs a odd-job man to mend the leaking pipes, faulty switches and fused off bulbs and creaking doors and windows.
There is always a great demand for the odd-job men in our old town as more and more buildings getting old with plumbing getting rusty, electric fixtures getting worn out and wood work rotting and needing coats of paint.
