old fogy:
(also with the spelling ‘old fogey‘ with the plural from ‘old fogeys‘; plural: ‘old fogies‘; also ‘fogey‘; pronunciation: the letter ‘g’ in ‘fogy’ is said with a ‘g’ sound as in “gun”)
a slow old fashioned person who does not like to change or does not approve of the changes in society;
(old usage) a person with some physical or mental disability, especially those soldiers wounded in the battles in the past,
My son says that I am turning into a real old fogy!
Most of our culture and traditions are kept alive by the so called ‘old fogeys’ … without those old fogeys we would not know who we were.
Every community in the world has a section of old fogies which always grumbles about the changes in the social and religious customs and wants the governments, which are also doing their best to catch up with others, to stop the changes.
