optimist:
(plural: ‘optimists‘; the word opposite in meaning is “pessimist“; for the right pronunciation of this word, please click here)
a person who likes to take and takes the positive side of anything, even from something that has gone wrong,
An optimist says about a man who is very sick and going to die: “The man is half alive.” (the positive side); a pessimist, on the other hand, says about the same sick man: “The man is half dead.” (the negative side)
Sarah is an optimist; she never sees anything negative or lose hope in anything, even if it’s the worst thing that could happen to her or to another person!
Optimists boast of their looking at the positive side of everything, and in their over-enthusiasm, they tend to talk more of negativism than positivism, and ten out of ten optimists never put their hands in boiling water with the positive thinking that their hands never get scalded because they only see the positive side of events!
