My son’s family is one of the several overspill that are moving out of London. (i.e. my son along with several others is moving out of the city of London to a nearby town called Essex, some 53 miles or 87 Kilometres from London, because London has become overcrowded and so has become more noisy and polluted, and more importantly, more expensive to live in)
There are several ‘overspill housing estates’ that help any overspill to find a good house and a neighbourhood.

1: ‘Overspill” is less commonly used to refer to the activity/movement of people moving out of crowded cities.
Note 2: “Overspill” is commonly used to refer to, as a verb, the action of spilling something over, e.g. “He overspilled the milk.”, and as a noun, the act of spilling over something, e.g. “There are several overspills of milk on the table.” (‘to spill’ = to make or allow some liquid fall out of its container, often accidentally, e.g. “The young girl spilled the milk all over the carpet.”)
