pallbearer:
(plural: ‘pallbearers‘; pronunciation: ‘pall…bearer’)
a person (a mourner) who carries/attendants a coffin/casket at a funeral,
(a ‘mourner’ = a relative or friend of a dead person who feels sad for the death of his/her friend or relative; a ‘coffin’ = a large wooden box in which a dead person, mostly in Christian religion, is placed and carried to the grave-yard — a ‘casket’ is the American word for ‘coffin’)
e.g.
I felt very honoured when my uncle chose me to be a pallbearer at my aunts funeral.
Being a pallbearer is a very responsible task — one must maintain decent behaviour, wear decent clothes and show a decent disposition … shouldn’t say ‘cheese’ when they take some photos or shoot a video.
