Satan:
(also ‘the Devil’, ‘Evil’; plural: ‘Satans‘; opposite word in meaning: ‘Angel‘; for the right pronunciation of this word, please click here)
(in religious sense & always with a capital ‘S’) an angel who disobeyed God and was sent away (rejected) by God, who then rebelled against God and encouraged people to disobey and rebel against God; Lucifer;
(in ordinary sense and often with a small ‘s’; plural: ‘satans‘) any person and, mostly an animal, who is very very bad,
Some people believe that Satan, the ruler of Hell, is just the bad things that happen to people, a name and image given to the evil things that happen to people.
Some atheists ask the theists how a Satan is born from the Angels that are supposed to be all good and very much like Him, and why God should reject Satan and send it down to the earth as a punishment to turn the innocent and powerless humans He created into evil instead of forgiving him, and then punish those innocent humans for being inhuman; He should have changed the mind of Satan and turn him back into an Angel!
The rapists, drunkards, smugglers and terrorists of the modern world are often labelled as satans for their evil acts that harm or kill good and innocent people.
