white-throated thrush
Thrushes’ songs are melodious. Some people in Europe make special arrangements in their gardens to invite thrushes so that they can listen to their sweet ‘warbling’ and ‘whistling’ songs!
Though most thrushes feed on insects probing the ground for them, there are some species which feed on snails and fruit. When these birds feed on the snails, they hold snails in their beaks and thresh (beat repeatedly) them against any piece of stone or rock until the shell breaks open and the soft-bodied snails are exposed!!
Some species of thrushes are migratory.
