Ms Carlson is the best known ornamental engraver in our city, and with the sentiment attached to her workmanship that an engagement ring or wedding ring engraved by her would make a marriage last long, many people rush to her shop to get their rings engraved by her!
There are different kinds of engravers: ornamental engravers; glass engravers; stone engravers, music engravers, and, in the modern society, laser engravers (machines) and engraver software for computers.
We see the skilful hand of engravers all around us: logos of business establishments, gift articles that people give to others, expensive ornaments, and even small and ordinary things such as mugs, flasks, clocks, watches, etc. that we see every day bear engravers’ mark on them.
Though technology has made it easy for the present day engravers to show their talent better, the mind of an engraver has been the same all through the centuries — to create an artistic engraving that lasts long!
